Our approach

How we show up to every engagement

Three values that are not aspirational - they describe how we actually work, every time.

Integrity work is not just about technical capability. It is about how you think, how you act, and whether you can be trusted to do both under pressure. These three values guide every engagement we take on.

Curious

We get to the heart of the matter. We don't settle for the obvious explanation or the easy answer. We ask the question behind the question.

In integrity work, the presenting issue is rarely the whole story. A complaint about an individual may reveal a systemic problem. A procurement irregularity may point to a cultural failure. A conflict of interest may be a symptom of poor governance rather than bad faith. Curiosity is what allows us to see the full picture.

We bring the same curiosity to solutions. We think differently about what might actually work - drawing on experience across sectors and disciplines, and always asking: is there a better way?

  • We ask hard questions, even when the answers are uncomfortable
  • We look beyond the immediate problem to understand context and cause
  • We bring fresh thinking to familiar challenges
  • We are honest when we don't know something - and we find out
Courageous

We call it as it is. We tell the truth clearly and constructively - even when it is difficult to hear, and even when it would be easier to soften it.

In high-stakes integrity matters, the temptation to hedge is always present. The situation is politically sensitive. The subject is a senior person. The finding is uncomfortable. Courage is what makes independent advice worth having. Without it, we are just telling people what they want to hear.

Courage also means taking the lead. When a situation requires someone to step into an uncomfortable space - to raise the difficult question, to challenge an established view, to make a call when things are ambiguous - we are willing to be that person.

  • We give advice that is honest, not just palatable
  • We are willing to disagree - respectfully and with reasoning
  • We don't avoid difficult conversations
  • We take responsibility for our views and stand behind them
Purposeful

We are here to make a lasting difference, not just to produce a report. We take action, we see things through, and we measure success by progress and impact, not hours billed.

Too much integrity work stays at the level of findings and recommendations. It identifies problems without fixing them. It produces frameworks that sit in folders. It investigates without asking what comes next. We work differently. Every engagement is oriented toward a meaningful outcome.

This means we are deliberate about scope, clear about what success looks like, and honest about what is and isn't within our remit. We don't promise more than we can deliver - and we deliver what we promise.

  • We focus on outcomes, not just outputs
  • We are practical and realistic about what will work
  • We stay engaged until the work is actually done
  • We care about whether things change, not just whether we advised well
